At the same time, BJP workers including Godda MP Nishikant Dubey and former Social Welfare Minister Louis Marandi have joined this protest.

Maruti Kumari, a first-year student of the college, was set on fire by a man named Rajesh Raut after pouring petrol on her. The victim died while being taken to Ranchi for better treatment the previous day. Earlier, the victim was admitted to Phoolo Jhano Medical College.

In an injured condition, the girl had told the police in her statement that she had refused to marry. Angered by this, the madman poured petrol and burnt him alive.
