JK: CM Mehbooba and Oman Abdullah condemns killing of soldier in Shopian

Srinagar:  an army jawan was snatched and killed by suspected militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district.

The bullet-ridden-dead body of Irfan Ahmed Mir, who was off-duty and had come back home for vacation, was recovered this morning, police  official said.

The policefound the body from a coppice area in Watmullah Keegam area of Shopian, news agency PTI reported as quoting an official statement.

The 23-year-old was supposedly a Territorial Army jawan posted with the Engineering Regiment of the army at Gurez near the Line of Control.

  As per Reports recommended that the police was investigating questioning the case and were look into if suspected militants were caught up with the killing.

Another Kashmir youth chooses India over militancy, returns home

Ahmad Mir had gone absent last evening after he left his home in car, reports told. His car was later recovered one kilometer away from where his body was revealed this morning.

For the moment, Jammu and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti stoutly condemned the murder of the army jawan, tagging it a “heinous act”.

Ex- chief minister Oman Abdullah also uttered his condolences to the jawan’s family and labelled his murder “reprehensible”.
