Hollywood's noted writer-director John Lafia died on April 29. He was 63. The cause of his death is said to be suicide. He co-wrote the 1988 horror film "Child Play" and directed its 1990 sequel. Producer and screenwriter Don Manchini of Child Play has said in a statement - 'John was a liberal artist. He taught me more about filmmaking than film school. John was one of the naturally curious and consistently creative people. Please tell that John Lafia was born on April 2, 1957. He ventured into the music world in the 80s before starting his film career. After graduating in arts from UCLA in motion picture and television, he worked in the art department on "Repo Man" and "Space Raiders". He later became a screenwriter. However, according to the Los Angeles medical examiner-coroner's office, the cause of his death was suicide. Lafia is survived by her children Tess, Ken and his ex-wife Beverly.
