Junior player Kouame slaps opponent after facing defeat in tennis match

Junior tennis player Michael Kouame Ghana has slapped his rival teammate Raphael Ankrah during the ITF junior tournament in Accra. The 15-year-old Kouame slapped Ankrah at the net after losing to Ghana, triggering a court dispute. Frenchman Camey was the top seed in the competition but Ankrah has won the opening set 6-2. Kouame has got the second set in a tie-break. The deciding set saw a tough fight and went on a tie-break once again. Ankrah has won the match 6-2, 6-7(5), 7-6(5).

After the match was over, both the players came to the net for a handshake. But Michael Kouame has suddenly slapped Ankrah. From which everyone was shocked. The reason for the slap was a commotion. At the same time, Kaume and Ankrah were seen arguing in court.

According to reports, Kouame's rank in the ITF junior rankings was 606th while Ankrah's rank was 1,708. Michael Kouame has won nine out of 14 matches in the 2022 season so far. The 15-year-old started the year by reaching the semi-finals of J4 Kigali, where he lost to India's Pranav Karthik.
