New Delhi: A hearing took place today in the country's largest court on Friday, on the issue of pollution caused by burning stubble. In this, the apex court has constituted a member committee headed by former Justice Madan B. Lokur. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta has raised objections to this. Now the committee will monitor the cases of stubble burning in Punjab, Haryana, and UP. The Justice Lokur Committee will submit a report to the apex court every 15 days on the issue of stubble burning. Now the next hearing of the case is scheduled for 26 October. The Supreme Court has also said that the respective state governments will provide appropriate facilities to the Justice Lokur Committee, which includes secretariat, security, and financial facilities. On the arguments of the states, the Chief Justice also said that the states are saying that pollution is not happening in Delhi due to the burning of stubble, so why the pollution is happening. It is important to know. We want people in NCR to get clean air to breathe. In the court, the Punjab government said that they are not the cause of pollution in Delhi because every direction of the court is being followed literally on their behalf. UP, Haryana has not given any answer so far. The petitioner had requested the appointment of former Justice Madan B. Lokur on which the court agreed.
