Kabul Attack: Terrorists entered crowd by tying 11 kg explosives on body, planned to blow up entire airport

Kabul- The Fidayeen attacker, who blasted outside Hamid Karzai International Airport in Afghanistan's capital Kabul on Thursday evening, took a 25-pound explosive with him. At the same time, the attacker was also loaded with pellets. A U.S. official reported in this regard on Friday. The attack claimed the lives of 169 Afghan civilians. 13 U.S. soldiers were also among the dead. The Islamic State group took responsibility for the attack.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the official spoke on a preliminary assessment of the bomb blast, which the official said caused such a huge explosion due to the spread of large quantities of explosives and pellets. This led to the loss of lives of American soldiers inside the airport gate as well as soldiers and Afghans stationed outside. Fidayeen attackers have usually been found blasting with five to 10 pounds of explosives. According to officials, the attacker entered within several yards of the gate of Kabul airport, where a large crowd of Afghan civilians had gathered to get out of Afghanistan.

US President Joe Biden's national security team has told the president that there is a possibility of another suicide attack in Kabul. In such a situation, tight security arrangements are being made at the airport in the capital of Afghanistan. White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki did not say much about the information Biden's team gave to the president. Saki said that the next few days of the evacuation operation for Americans and Afghans wanting to leave Afghanistan will be the most difficult days ever.
