Kali Poster Controversy: Filmmaker Leena Manamekalai summoned by Delhi Police

Leena Manamekalai who has grabbed all the lime lights by her poster of documentary in whichshe shows a women dressed as Kali smoking  has been summoned by a Delhi court. As various FIR filed against her for hurting religious sentiments. Delhi's Tis Hazari court has listed a ple aagainst her for hearing on November 1.  As per an official source, “In view of the submissions, let summons be issued afresh through all modes including service through email as well asWhatsApp on the filing, returnable for the next date of hearing. Put up for service of the summons upon the defendants and for arguments on the above-stated application on November 1,” the court said. The source further added, The complaint seeks an interim injunction tore strain the filmmakers from depicting the Hindu Goddess, Kaali, in the waythey have depicted in the promotional poster and video. Advocate Raj Gaurav had filed the suit, seeking a permanent and mandatory injunction against Leena and producers of the documentary film. About Kali Controversy Filmaker Leena Manimekalai had shared a poster of her documentary Kaali onJuly 2, on Twitter. It depicted a character in the film smoking a cigarette. The character was dressed as Hindu Goddess Kali. In the poster, the character held atrident in one hand and the LGBTQ flag in the other. The poster irked social media users who accused the filmmaker of deliberately hurting the sentiments of theHindu community. They also demanded   her arrest. An FIR was filed against LeenaManimekalai by the Delhi police's IFSO unit. The police have booked her undersections 153A, 295A. Many cases have also been filed against her in UttarPradesh.
