Bangalore: Protests by recognized social health workers outside the Deputy Commissioner's Office in Shivamogga have been going on for days. This protest of the workers continues from July 10. Asha worker is demanding a minimum salary of Rs 12,000 per month. A group of ASHA workers associated with the All India United Trade Union Center in Karnataka has continued their protests for quite some time. It was also told that the workers with their 12000 per month salary had also demanded PPE kit. At the outset of the protest, it was told that state Congress President DK Shivkumar supported the ASHA workers. He has hoped to do all possible assistance on behalf of the party. Asha worker gets a salary of 6000 rupees every month from the Central Government. According to a report, there are 42 thousand Asha workers in the state. For the prevention of corona infection, the workers have done everything like warriors and are doing it continuously. During this time, there have also been reports of attack on Asha workers. Recently Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Ramvir Singh Bidhuri had said that it is unfortunate that thousands of Asha workers of Delhi are not being paid for the last 4 months in the service of home isolation corona infected. Bidhuri, in a letter to CM Arvid Kejriwal, demanded that ASHA workers be paid the minimum wages fixed by the Delhi government every month.
