Advanced bikes should pay more taxes

Karnataka is planning to increase the taxes on the high-end motorbikes. This decision was followed by the Motor Vehicle Tax. As per the reports, the taxes will get raised from 12% to 18%.

Sainik Raj Chordia, a KTM partner-dealer, shared his idea about the taxes hike saying, "The tax levied in Maharashtra and Kerala is 20%, which makes bikes still cheaper in our state. Moreover, most bikes are sold on installment basis through bank loans. The government has protected the common man by taxing only the high-end bikes."

The increase in taxes may bring several changes in the sales of the bikes. However, there may be the benefit for the two-wheeler sellers too.
