Kaun Banega Crorepati host contributes tiny donation of Rs. 51 lakh towards Kerala flood relief

 

New Delhi [India] Aug 23(NT): As the rain-lashed Kerala continues to combat floods, the 75-year-old superstar Amitabh Bachchan has made a tiny donation of Rs. 51 lakh to the relief organizations working towards the welfare of victims.

The ‘Pink’ star has contributed towards aid work being done by sound designer Resul Pookutty for Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund.

“Shanshah” of B-town also gave away some of his personal belongings not just money to the flood-havocked state.

According to the source close to Pookutty informed that Big Bachchan has not only donated Rs. 51 lakhs cash but also donated six cartons of his personal clothing, including around 80 jackets, 25 pants, 20 shirts, and scarves. Apart from this the actor has also donated around 40 shoes.

Not only Big B many other Bollywood celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Sushant Singh Rajput, Hrithik Roshan among others who have extended their support and urged people to come forward and help the people of Kerala.

Worth mention here As many as 357 lives are claimed due to Kerala floods so far, with the state incurring a loss of Rs 19,512 crore due to the battered rain.

Rescue and relief operations in the state have been stepped up to evacuate the trapped people from affected areas. (NT)
