After the success of their debut production ‘Mishti Doi’, an award-winning short film that bagged the Best Film and Best Production award at the Global India International Film Festival this year and was also acquired by Pocket Films as well as Disney+Hotstar, KBJ Entertainment will be back with another heart-warming tale. Their upcoming short film is titled ‘Monya’ and it revolves around a father-daughter relationship. Starring actor Rishi Deshpande, Ankita Nikrad, Deepa Sagar Amre, Abhijit Deo, and Milind Uke, ‘Monya’ has been written by writer duo Jaidev Hemmady and Shibu Sable and directed by Shibu Sable, the same team that had worked on ‘Mishti Doi’ with KBJ Entertainment. Talking about their upcoming project, producer Harshada Patankar said, “After the success of Mishti Doi, which was loved and appreciated by many, we at KBJ Entertainment wanted to collaborate with Shibu and Jaidev on another touching and impactful story that would connect with the audience and we found that in ‘Monya’, which touched my heart in the first narration itself. At KBJ Entertainment, we have always believed in telling stories that have a soul and make an impact on the minds and hearts of the viewers. As we had worked with Shibu and Jaidev on our debut production ‘Mishti Doi’, I knew that I could trust their vision and execution.” Writer-director Shibu Sable said, “Ever since I was blessed with a daughter a few years ago, I wanted to make a warm story around a father-daughter relationship, and during one of our brainstorming sessions, we came up with the concept of Monya. Both Jaidev and I loved the idea and we decided to develop and write it. I am grateful to KBJ Entertainment for trusting our vision and giving unflagging support during the making of the short film.” ‘Monya’ is currently in the post-production stage and the release date of the short film will be announced soon with a teaser poster.
