"An Air India Express flight made a precautionary landing at Kozhikode today after pilots detected fire alarm from cargo. With 17 passengers on-board, the flight was scheduled for Calicut-Kuwait," said Air India Express spokesperson. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot and can be seen next to the aeroplane. No injuries to those on-board or damage to the aircraft has been reported as of yet. This is a developing story. Drafted by Kozhikode MP MK Raghavan, this master plan was sent to AAI chairman Arvind Singh in the aftermath of the August 7 incident last year when an Air India Express aircraft crash-landed at the table-top runway of the Kozhikode airport also known as the Calicut airport.
