Kerala CM calls for preparing robust industrial environment in the state

KOCHI:  Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that his government is committed to prepare an industrial environment in the state that can take on the challenges of the changing times.

The CM was speaking after inaugurating Mission 1000, the 2nd phase of the Entrepreneurial Year project.  Innovations are being prioritised and funding are being sought for. He said, this will produce a long-lasting business-friendly climate.

There was an allegation that Kerala was not a good place for industries. Such claims were being made by vested interests determined to undermine the government, not by investors. Nonetheless, international businesses have expressed interest in investing in Kerala.

When we predicted that 1 lakh businesses would emerge within a year, there were doubters, yet the goal was achieved in just eight months. The project's second phase has begun as a result of its approval. The goal of Mission 1000 is to choose 1000 already-existing businesses and grow them to have an average annual revenue of Rs 100 crore within four years. The Chief Minister continued by saying that this will boost the confidence of all businesses.

In his presidential address, Minister P. Rajeeve of the Industries Department stated that attempts are being made to develop software to recognise and handle the issues faced by the state's micro, small, and medium-sized businesses. 1,39,840 enterprises in total were launched during the first quarter of the entrepreneurial year. 3,43,000 new jobs were created in total. In total, 45107 businesses owned by women were founded, while 14 transgender people also began their own businesses. There were about 600 business owners and representatives from the industries department.

KN Balagopal, the minister of finance, opened the YouTube Selfie Point and the Mission 1000 Portal. Local Self-Government Minister M.B Rajesh, Industries Department Principal Secretary Suman Billa IAS,  Industry and Commerce Department Director S. Hari Kishore IAS, Industries Department PS APM Muhammad Hanish IAS, Ernakulam District Collector NSK Umesh IAS,KSSIA General Secretary P.J. Jose, FICCI State Council Co-Chair Deepak Aswani, CII Kerala Chair Aju Jacob, TiE Kerala President Damodar Avanur and others were present.
