Thiruvananthapuram: Senior Congress leader in Kerala and opposition UDF candidate from Nilambur V V Prakash passed away on Thursday morning following a heart attack. Party sources said this. Prakash (56) was also the Chairman of The Malappuram District Congress Committee (DCC). He had angioplasty a few months ago. According to the information received, Prakash was admitted to a private hospital in Edakkara on Thursday morning after complaining of chest pain and restlessness but was taken to Manjeri hospital after his condition deteriorated. Sources said he breathed his last around 5 am. The Congress party was hoping to win the Nilamdur seat from the ruling LDF (Left Democratic Front). The CPI(M) has fielded MLA Pv Anwar from the seat.
