Kerala govt cancels its 1 crore corona vaccine order, know why

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has informed the state high court that it has cancelled the 1 crore vaccine order. Explaining the reason behind this, the Pinarayi Vijayan government of the state said that vaccine companies have informed the state that they cannot provide so much dose under the limits set by the Centre.

The court directed the Central government to respond to the new vaccination policy by tomorrow. At the same time, the Kerala government said that disabled and vulnerable patients will be vaccinated in the state. The state government said vaccination of such people is very important as their current health condition may worsen at their residence. The Government of India today issued revised guidelines for the National Covid Vaccination Programme (National COVID Vaccination Program) to come into effect from June 21.

According to the new guidelines, the basis of allocation of vaccine doses to states and Union Territories, population of the region, infection figures and immunization data will be taken into account. At the same time, the price of vaccine dose will be decided by each vaccine manufacturing companies for private hospitals. Wastage of vaccine will have a negative impact on allocation.
