Kerala, Aug 20 (NT): First commercial flight landed at Kochi Naval Air Station after Cochin International Airport got affected due to Kerala foods.Here is the visual taken by the leading news agency ANI. A 'Thanks' note painted on the roof of a house in Kochi from where the Naval ALH piloted by Cdr Vijay Varma had rescued two women on August 17. In Oprah India Coast Guard Rescue team in a day-night operation rescued 50 people including women and children from the flooded houses in Thiruvella area and shifted them safely to the nearest Relief camp. Meanwhile Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali has decided to donate his one-month salary to flood-victims in Kerala state. Telangana Home Minister, Nayani Narshimha Reddy also handed over a cheque of Rs 25 crore to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday. Kerala is facing its worst flood in 100 years. 80 dams opened, 324 lives lost and 223139 people are in about 1500+ relief camps. CM Pinarayi Vijayan announced that the Government will honour fishing workers who were part of the rescue mission. All boats will be granted ₹3000 for each day of their work. Government will also bear the repairing costs of boats damaged during the mission.
