THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala opposition members began shouting slogans on Monday demanding action in relation to the recent vandalism of Rahul Gandhi's Wayanad office, which was reportedly vandalised by SFI activists. The fifth session of the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly was then adjourned for the day. Just a few minutes into the question and answer period at 9 AM, the session was abruptly called to order. At 10 AM, it was resumed amid continued sloganeering by opposition members, some of whom were wearing black shirts, who had raised placards and banners in opposition to the alleged gold smuggling allegations against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan as well as the vandalism of Rahul Gandhi's office. They only stopped talking briefly when Speaker M B Rajesh began reading the obituaries of eight former legislators who had recently gone away, including M P Govindan Nair, K Sankara Narayanan, K G Kunjikrishna Pillai, S Thyagarajan, and P Gopalakrishnan. Following the conclusion of the obituaries, the protesting MLAs entered the House's well, where they waved placards and banners in front of the Speaker's podium and yelled slogans calling for the CM to apologise for the vandalism of Rahul Gandhi's office and to take action against SFI, whose employees are alleged to have carried out the attack. Even after the Speaker announced that he would be taking up the notice presented by Congress MLA T Siddique, the protesting opposition MLAs continued to shout slogans.
