Khader said 10,500 people have pledged organs

On Monday, the Health minister UT Khader said, at least 10,500 people in the state pledged their organs for donation after their death .On January 2015,2,410 patients were waiting for organ transplants.

Referring to the Zonal Coordination Committee of Karnataka (ZCCK) for organ transplants, Khader said , “as of January 2015, as many as 68 people had donated organs, which benefited 336 patients. He said the government has no intentions of extending monetary support to families of those who donate organs”

Quoting to the CM Harish Santwana Yojana launched proior this month, Khader said , “192 government hospitals and 74 private ones have been brought under the Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust. Under the scheme, the government pays Rs 25,000 for firstaid and primary care to accident victims in these hospitals in the first 48 hours of the incident” “Khader said, “ the Union ministry of road transport and national highways has drafted a Standard Operating Procedure. As soon as the bills passed, the government will issue orders for the protection of good Samaritans”
