4 killed as boat capsizes in Ganga, search for missing continues

Khagaria: A boat capsized in Khagaria, four people drowned. The incident occurred in Nayagaon in Parbatta, Khagaria, according to sources. Four people have died after a boat capsized in the Ganga river here, and the search for the other missing people is ongoing. At this time, two to three people are feared to be missing.

A woman, on the other hand, was admitted to the hospital for treatment and her condition is still serious. The SDRF has a team on the lookout for missing persons. During nighttime, rescue attempts were stopped. However, as the day went on, the search for the missing people was resumed late at night, DM Alok Ranjan Ghosh reached the spot and gathered information regarding the incident.

More than a dozen people were said to be onboard the boat, all of them were farmers or members of the working class coming from the Diyara area after farming. Following the accident, the village is in a state of mourning. Sharmila Devi, 50 years old, Prabhat Kumar, 45 years old, Pankaj Singh, 50 years old, and another person were among the dead. Dineshwar Das, Sudha Devi's husband, has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
