Khelo India Youth Games: 14-yr-old weightlifter Akanksha all set to debut

INDORE: Akanksha Vyavahare is only 14-year-old but her exploits are huge. The TOPS Development List member Akanksha, who has set numerous national records in her weight division, will make her Khelo India Youth Games debut in Madhya Pradesh in 2022.

Akanksha, who has won numerous medals at the national level, is overjoyed and delighted to be participating in her first games.

The 14-year-old Akanksha who trains in Manmad hopes to succeed in the footsteps of India's Olympic weightlifting medalist, Mirabai Chanu, and bring home a trophy for her nation. Akansha declared: "I aspire to mirror Mirabai Chanu. To get to this point, she has put in a lot of effort. She has made numerous sacrifices, which is why she is in this position right now." 

Akanksha, a Khelo India practitioner at the SAI Regional Centre in Aurangabad, mentioned that she had met Mirabai once and really loved her. Mirabai is Akanksha's motivation. Akansha declared: "She told me you are doing well when we last spoke when I was travelling to an international event. Keep up the good effort and concentrate solely on your game." 

Akanksha has had a lot of success for someone her age. Akanksha competed in the Odisha Nationals in March 2022 and won gold while setting six new national records in the 40 kg division. Akanksha then took part in the Nationals in Patiala in August 2022. She won the gold medal in the 40 kg division.
