Delhi: The United Kisan Morcha, a farmers' organisation that has been agitating against the Centre's 3 agricultural laws for the past 7 months, told The Centre's New Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shobha Karandlaje, "There is a need to update the farmers' movement first before singing the old tune.'' Last Saturday, the Kisan Morcha issued a statement saying, "The Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, who came to the Central Government, is singing the same old tune about farmers protesting, protesting farmers and 3 black laws. You need to update yourself about this movement.'' Let me tell all of you that the statement was issued by Balbir Singh Rajewal, Dr Darshan Pal, Gurnam Singh Charuni, Hannan Mulla, Jagjit Singh Dallewal, Joginder Singh Ugarhan, Shivakumar Sharma 'Kakkaji', Yudhvir Singh, and Yogendra Yadav. Recently, Kisan Morcha said, "Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shobha Karandlaje has started singing the same tune as others before her about farmers' protest and her demand to repeal 3 Central Agricultural Laws.'' At the same time, he has said, "The protesters are not farmers, and that the protest can be eliminated by better explaining the law to the farmers.'' The Kisan Morcha further said, "It is clear that before he makes some more statements, he needs to update himself on this movement. The Narendra Modi government is in its ego game in which all ministers will be forced to sing the same tune.'' It was further stated that ''it seems that the Minister has no concern for the farmers and their interests. Instead of understanding the deep crisis in which farmers have been put in by black laws, they are serving the corporate figures of their party's government. It is unfortunate that the Minister of State for Agriculture sees farmers as political agents and farmers' long struggle as "politically motivated". Though she claims to be from a farming family, she seems to have forgotten that the farmers are the food providers of the country, and their cruel and insensitive words and mindset are condemned by the Kisan Morcha.''
