EFL Cup 2020-21 cup, 61st season of the EFL Cup is happening from 29th August 2020 to 28th February 2021 is open to all teams participating Premier League and the English Football League. The winner of the competition will be qualified for the play-off round of the UEFA Europa conference League. The semi-finals will be single matches which was a two-legged fixture early. These two are newly introduced in this season. This year’s EFL has 92 club entries. These clubs were distributed into 4 EFL systems. The draw was categorized into northern and southern clubs for the first two rounds. In the round one, 70 clubs played in 35 matches and in round 2 35 winners from Round 1 played and 2 clubs from the EFL championship and 13 premier league clubs played together in 25 matches. In Round 3, 25 winners from the second round a d7 premier league clubs played in 16 matches. In Round 4, 16 winners from the third round played in 8 matches. The fifth Round or the Quarterfinals will be played by 8 winners from round 4 in 4 matches in the month of December 2020 and the semifinals commence on 4th January 2021. This year semi-finals included an amendment. This semi-final will only be played on a single-leg basis like the rest of the tournament. Two teams who qualify in the semi-finals will meet at the finals on 28thy February 2021. Manchester City secured its 7th title in the EFL cup 2019-2020.
