Know why Purvanchal expressway is special?

Lucknow: The people of the country's largest state Uttar Pradesh are getting the gift of Purvanchal Expressway today. PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate Purvanchal Expressway. About 341 km long expressway will connect eastern and western Uttar Pradesh. The expressway will start from Chand Sarai in Lucknow and will reach Ghazipur. 22 thousand 497 crore rupees have been spent in making it. This expressway will pass through 9 districts of Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ghazipur. PM Modi had laid its foundation stone from Azamgarh in July 2018.

The Purvanchal Expressway will start from Chand Sarai village in Lucknow which will end at Haidaria village at NH-31 in Ghazipur. This village is 18 km before the Uttar Pradesh-Bihar border. The expressway has now been constructed for 6 lanes, which can also be 8 lanes in future. It is claimed that it will take 10 hours to reach Delhi from Ghazipur by this expressway. According to the Government of Uttar Pradesh, the work started in October 2018 and was completed in 3 years. According to the same estimate, it will take about 4 hours to cover the 341 km Poorvanchal Expressway. The expressway will generate revenue of Rs 202 crore from the toll to the government. At present, the people will not have to pay toll tax. That means the journey will be free for a few days now. But later, the work of collecting toll tax will be given to the private company. The company will soon fix the toll rates per kilometre followed by toll at toll booths. It is said that the rates will be kept around the rates of Lucknow Agra Expressway.
