Now the actor has been summoned by the Kolkata Police for his “cook fish for Bengalis” statement. He has been asked to present himself at the Taltala Policed Station on December 12 over the matter. Paresh during campaigning said, "Gas cylinders are expensive, but their price will come down. People will get employment too. But what will happen if Rohingya migrants and Bangladeshis start living around you, like in Delhi? What will you do with gas cylinders? Cook fish for the Bengalis?" After this Paresh Rawal wrote an apology post but ended up aggravating the row by claiming that he meant "illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingya" when he used the word "Bengalis".
