Kolkata: The world-famous Durga Puja of Bengal has been recognized by UNESCO as an abstract cultural heritage (Intangible Heritage) on Wednesday (December 15, 2021). UNESCO, a United Nations (UN) body working in the field of education, science, and culture, also tweeted in this regard on its official Twitter account. He has written, "Durga Puja of Kolkata has been included in the abstract cultural heritage list. Congratulations to India.'' According to reports, Kolkata Durga Puja has been featured in the list of the intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO (UNESCO's Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity) during the 16th session of the Intergovernmental Committee held in Paris, France from 13th to 18th December 2021. PM Narendra Modi has expressed happiness after UNESCO announced the inclusion of Durga Puja in Kolkata in the list. Pm Modi tweeted, "It is a matter of great pride and happiness for every Indian. Durga Puja reflects our best traditions and values. Everyone should enjoy the Durga Puja in Kolkata. ' Durga Puja is celebrated with gaiety in various states of the country along with Kolkata.
