Kunal Chhabhria’s popularity races ahead as he continues to tickle peoples’ funny bone !

In an absolute reversal of his original professional career choice of working at an advertising agency to becoming a well-known name today in creating content for the audience that are relatable for them and they recall themselves while watching them. This process is an evidence of his career’s meteoric rise.

As he recounts his career growth, Kunal feels nostalgic while tracing the path, he started to making short films and videos during his college time. Going forward, he joined a local advertising agency while still studying in college, where he was instrumental in handling as well as getting profitable client accounts and generating ROI for them. It was more ironical than strange that despite of having a stable career and steady growth at work, he was still not professionally happy and content. It was as if he was craving for something else to plan and execute in his career. He went onto joining one of the most premiere network of the country, known as Star Network, where he was in the Hotstar team, which is now acquired by Disney. 

It was only a short while into his career and a tragedy struck when he got ill, his sickness left him bed ridden. His whole world turned topsy-turvy with him as he was the only bread winner in the family and he was jobless at this instance. He also had to leave his job at Hotstar as travelling all the way from his town was becoming a tough task for him.

He recalls the days at the hospital where he had nothing to do but wait for his speedy recovery. During this course of time, when the internet was on a turning point of its boom, he started watching funny and relatable videos online in order to find an escape from his boredom. This turned out as if providence guided him towards uploading his first ever video, which was loved by the audiences and reached to a lot of people. The video got shared really well on Facebook and various other social media platforms at that time. This proved to be his encouragement to make more content and put it online and have a constant vision of entertaining people. He gives a huge credit to his mother Bharati Chhabhria and his wife Manvita Chhabhria who have always been strong pillars of support to him and have encouraged him to do what he loves at every stage of his life. 

After the recovery, he went onto Adoing the task, from where it all started. He joined a local advertising agency, yet again. During this phase, he also happened to create a full - fledged YouTube channel called What The Fukrey (WTF). WTF is a channel with over 1.6M+ subscribers today, it is a hub for all things entertainment & comedy. 

Going forward, in the process of continuously making content, he started working with Ashish Chanchlani, as they both are from the same city, Ulhasnagar. They teamed up and started making longer form of comedy sketches, unlike short comedy vines which were of a minute max. 

Taking Ashish’s growth into consideration, brands started coming to look for advertising and promotional solutions. Kunal was and is the one who is responsible for planning, pitching and successfully closing a lot of brand collaborations for Ashish Chanchlani Vines. 

After a couple of years, he realised that a large number of creators are making an amazing move into this content industry and it would be great to start an in-house influencer marketing solutions company, which he proud names as The Brandgasm Media. 

Kunal’s professional journey has amply displayed how through the process of self-discovery, he himself discovered his true calling of being a creator. He backed it with a fair amount of grit, determination and the will to succeed.
