Los Angeles: After a jury was unable to reach a verdict on the charges, a judge in Los Angeles decided Tuesday that convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein would not be retried for alleged assaults on two women.
The rape of a European actress ten years ago at the Beverly Hills Hotel resulted in the former film mogul's conviction last year. After serving a 23-year sentence imposed by a New York court, he was sentenced to 16 years in prison.
But a jury in Los Angeles on Tuesday deadlocked on charges related to two other women and prosecutors said they felt unable to proceed with a new trial.

Superior Court Judge Lisa Lench granted the defense's request to dismiss the remaining charges.
