Workers going by train will not have to buy tickets, railway will recover money from state government

New Delhi: Due to the nationwide lockdown implemented due to the Corona epidemic, the railways will collect the fare from the state governments for transporting stranded migrant labourers across the country to their home states. This has been mentioned in an order issued by the Railways on Friday.

The train by which migrant labourers will be transported has been named Shramik Special. The fare for the journey will include the ticket price of Sleeper class, a superfast fee of 30 rupees and food and water of 20 rupees. Railways have made it clear that passengers do not need to buy anything from them, their expenses will be borne by the state governments. After the services were suspended for the whole month, the railways had run the first passenger train for these workers from Hyderabad to Jharkhand at 4:30 in the morning with a total of 12,00 people.

Railways have also set the schedules for the other five trains. These trains will travel from Nashik to Lucknow, Aluva to Bhubaneswar, Nashik to Bhopal, Jaipur to Patan and Kota to Hatia. Each train will have between one thousand and 12 hundred people. Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Bihar, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Telangana had requested to run special trains for labourers.
