The RJD supremo further wrote, 'If the census data does not benefit the majority population of the country, then what about the data on the animal census? Will you put it?' The demand has increased not only in Bihar but also in Uttar Pradesh. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, BSP supremo Mayawati had also supported the caste-based census. Akhilesh and Mayawati had said that caste-based census data should be released to the central government. His party, an ally of the government at the Centre, had even talked about a separate census of OBC, which Mayawati had also supported.
