The rumours spread like wildfire after a tweet by a popular account which covers news related to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The tweet cited industry insider Daniel Richtman, sharing that the ‘Squid Game’ star was reportedly in talks with Marvel Studios. Netizens went even as fans as guessing which role the actor would be taking on. Following this, a South Korean media outlet shared an update on the actor’s stance. According to the report, on August 4, actor Lee Jung Jae was asked during an interview about the possibility of his appearance in a Marvel movie. To this, the actor reportedly responded by saying that the news was incorrect, much to everyone’s high hopes. The outlet quoted the ‘Squid Game’ star, sharing that Lee Jung Jae said, “The news is wrong. From what I know, an overseas influencer wrote the rumour on social media, probably for fun. However, that got reported as a fact. I have never received such an offer from Marvel."
