Mumbai: Veteran actor Sulochana Latkar died on Sunday due to prolonged illness at a hospital in Mumbai, her grandson-in-law Parag Ajgavkar confirmed. She passed away at around 6.30 pm. She had a respiratory tract infection for which she was admitted on May 8 She was 94. She was admitted to Shushrusha Hospital in Dadar on May 8. Her last rites will take place on Monday at Shivaji Park Crematorium along with the funeral at her residence from 11 AM to 5 PM. Mrs Sulochana Latkar, a well-known actor of Marathi and Hindi cinema, started her career in 1940s and went on to feature in over 250 films. She was born on July 30, 1928, in Maharashtra, India, and her real name was Sulochana Sopan Hawaldar. Latkar made a significant impact on the film industry, primarily in Marathi and Hindi cinema, during the golden era of Indian cinema.
