Lithium ion battery headphone explosion caused serious facial injuries to woman

Lithium ion battery equipped headphones busted in the moving flight when a woman was using it. The explosion has caused severe facial injuries to a woman. Officials have warned passengers about to 'cut the usage of battery implanted device' in a flight.

The flight was going to  Melbourne from Beijing, while she was listening to a music via her Lithium-ion battery headphones. She was napping, when suddenly she heard a loud noise and felt that her face is bursting.

The woman described the whole instance saying, "I just grabbed my face which caused the headphones to go around my neck. I continued to feel burning so I grabbed them off and threw them on the floor. They were sparking and had small amounts of fire.”
