Lobin Hembrom Joins BJP, Criticizes Jharkhand Mukti Morcha for Internal Dissatisfaction

Ranchi: On Saturday, Lobin Hembrom, who was expelled from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) earlier this year, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and expressed strong criticism of his former party. Hembrom, who was expelled for a period of six years, made the remarks during a BJP induction event in Ranchi, Jharkhand, attended by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

“Everyone in Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is upset because of a few individuals. JMM is no longer JMM,” Hembrom told the media.

Hembrom outlined his future plans, stating, “We will sit down and decide our strategy on how to protect the people here, how to safeguard tribals and natives from infiltrators... I have witnessed the issue of infiltration from Bangladesh in my region.”

This development comes as Jharkhand prepares for elections to its 81-member legislative assembly later this year, with the current government's term set to end in 2024. The Election Commission of India has yet to announce the election dates.

In related news, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Champai Soren, who also recently joined the BJP. During their meeting, Sarma extended an invitation for Soren to visit Assam, offering to host him for a meal at his home and visit the Maa Kamakhya Temple.

Sarma stated, “Since Champai Soren joined the BJP yesterday, I came this morning to wish him. I have invited him to Assam and to visit and worship at the Maa Kamakhya Temple, as well as to have a meal at my house.”

Champai Soren’s BJP induction event on Friday was also attended by Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, CM Sarma, and Babulal Marandi, among other state BJP leaders.
