Chandigarh: Chandigarh administration extends mini lockdown by another week. The lockdown tightening in Punjab and Haryana has been increased by the state governments, so the lockdown in Chandigarh has also been extended by a week. Chandigarh administrator VP Singh Badnore held a meeting of tricity officials on Monday to decide on the same. The Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed to formulate a uniform strategy in Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali. The existing restrictions in Panchkula have been increased till May 24, while the existing stricts have been implemented in Mohali till May 31. In Chandigarh too, it was almost certain to increase by one more week of the existing stricter. According to sources, the administration can introduce odd-even systems at shops so that other shops can also be opened under the system. At present, only essential commodity shops have been allowed to open, including cariana, milk, vegetable fruits, meat, animal feed, mobile repair and optical shops. At the same time, chemist shops, ATMs, medicines, pharmaceutical and its equipment shops are also open, while all other non-compulsory shops are closed.
