The Government of Tamil Nadu has decided to increase the lockdown once again in the State following suggestions from medical experts. Tamil Nadu's MK Stalin government on Sunday extended the lockdown imposed in view of corona in the state till June 28. However, some relaxations have also been given in some cities. On the basis of exemption, cities in Tamil Nadu are divided into three levels- Tier-I Tier-II and Tier-III. Tier-I includes 11 districts where no additional exemption has been given as the infected cases reported daily in these cities continue to increase. These cities include Coimbatore, Thiruppur, Erode, Salem, Karur, Namakkal, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Mayiladuthurai. Tier-II includes 23 districts with some additional exemption. In Tier-III, which includes Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpet, additional exemption from Tier-II cities has been given. Find out relaxations given:- •Marriage and related programmes with a maximum of 50 persons have been allowed only after obtaining e-registration in Tier-I and Tier-II cities. •In Tier-III cities, all government offices can work with a capacity of 100 percent employees, while private institutions can hire only 50 per cent of the employees. •Public transport in the state has been approved to be run with a capacity of 50%. •Metro services have been allowed to be introduced in Chennai with a limit of 50 per cent of the people. The need for e-registration for travelling in taxis and auto rickshaws has now been removed. •Shooting of film and television serials with most of the 100 employees has also been approved, but it has been made mandatory for all actors to conduct RT-PCR tests. •Standalone grocery stores and vegetable markets can open from 6 am to 7 pm. •Restaurants and small restaurants can deliver and take-away from 6 am to 9 pm. •E-commerce has been approved to operate from 6 am to 9 pm. •Shops selling electrical goods, hardware stores, vehicle outlets, stationery stores, vehicle mechanical shops, shoe shops, household appliance stores and smartphone shops can operate from 9 am to 5 pm. The required government service offices can work with 100 per cent of the employees, while other government offices can work with 50 percent of the employees.
