Lohia Global Launches 'Yodha': A New Era for Electric Commercial and Passenger Autos

Lohia Global has introduced its latest electric vehicle (EV) brand, Yodha, marking a big step in the growing electric three-wheeler (E3W) market. The brand's name, derived from the word 'warrior', symbolizes strength and resilience, targeting individuals who work tirelessly to provide for their families. The Yodha lineup is specifically designed for those who rely on three-wheelers for their livelihoods.

A Strategic Launch with Big Plans

At the EV Expo 2024, Lohia Auto revealed the Yodha brand, starting with its electric 3-wheeler, the Yodha Humsafar. This launch is part of Lohia Auto's long-term strategy to expand in the electric vehicle market. The company has committed a significant investment of ₹20 crore to the Yodha brand and plans to sell 3,00,000 units in both L3 and L5 categories by 2027. In the coming months, the brand will introduce several models, including the E5 Passenger and E5 Cargo, catering to both personal and commercial uses.

Yodha Humsafar: Features and Pricing

The Yodha Humsafar is the first product from the Yodha range, priced starting at ₹3.80 lakh (ex-showroom) for the L5 passenger segment. This electric 3-wheeler is equipped with a 10 kW battery that offers a range of up to 160 kilometers on a single charge. With a charging time of 4 to 6 hours at home, the Humsafar is ideal for individuals who rely on electric three-wheelers for daily transportation and work.

The E3W segment plays a crucial role in India’s EV landscape, accounting for over 40% of total EV sales. In 2023, India saw sales of over 4,00,000 electric three-wheelers, and this market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15% over the next five years.

Expanding the Yodha Portfolio

Yodha's initial product offerings include the E5 Passenger and E5 Cargo models. The E5 Passenger is tailored for urban and semi-urban commuting, emphasizing comfort and efficiency. Meanwhile, the E5 Cargo is designed for last-mile logistics, offering durability and reliability for commercial users.

Ayush Lohia, CEO of Lohia Auto, expressed, "At Lohia Auto, our journey has always been one of innovation, trust, and purpose. With over a decade of excellence in mobility solutions, we’ve built a legacy that empowers lives and connects communities.

Looking ahead, Yodha plans to diversify its offerings to meet the specific needs of the E3W segment, focusing on sustainability, performance, and convenience.

Future Outlook

The Yodha brand aims to establish itself as a key player in the commercial EV market, with a clear focus on innovation and reliability. As it continues to expand its product lineup, Yodha is set to meet the rising demand for electric vehicles in India’s rapidly growing urban and semi-urban regions.
