Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will function separately for 5-5 hours in the Budget Session, know why?

New Delhi: During the first phase of the Budget Session of Parliament, the lok sabha and the rajya sabha will meet at different times of the day to follow the social distancing norms related to corona. During the upcoming budget session beginning January 31, both the Houses will meet for five hours each at different times.

The Lok Sabha will meet on February 1 at 11 am and the country's general budget will be presented on that day. From February 2, the Lok Sabha will continue from 4 pm to 9 pm. The first phase of the budget session will continue till February 11. According to the Lok Sabha bulletin, the chambers and galleries of both the Houses will be used to seat members during the lower house meeting in view of the coronavirus pandemic. There is no formal information on what will be the actual timing of the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha. However, the meeting is expected to be held from 9 am to 2 pm.

The President's address will be on January 31. The second phase of the budget session will begin on March 14 and will continue till April 8. The monsoon of the year 2020 was the first such session during which both the Houses met at different times on the same day due to the Corona epidemic. The same was the case during the first phase of last year's budget session. During the second phase of the Budget Session and then the Monsoon Session and the Winter Session, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha began at the usual time as before.
