Congress Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi filed an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday requesting compensation for the families of farmers who died during the agricultural laws protest, According to sources. Previously, the government declared in a response to the parliament that it has not maintained track of farmers who died in the agitation against farm rules, and hence compensation is not an issue. Meanwhile, farmers' protests would continue until they receive a formal answer from the Central government on a variety of concerns, according to an official statement released on Saturday by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), a federation of farmer unions. On Saturday, a conference was organised to examine the future course of the farmers' protest, which is based on pending farmer requests. These demands comprise a legal guarantee for MSP (Minimum Support Price)and rehabilitation for kin and kith of the farmers who died during the demonstration, among others.
