Love Game: Mess of a bold and daring concept

Love Games  Cast: Patralekha, Gaurav Arora, Tara Alisha Berry, Hiten Tejwani Producer: Mukesh Bhatt, Mahesh Bhatt

Writter: Vikram Bhatt

Director: Vikram Bhatt Rating: 1.5/5

Thumbs up: Patralekhaa was surprise package on the film, or we can say that gave some life in this profoundly ridiculous film as the femme fatale.

Thumbs down: Direction, Story, Dialogues

What’s new: Vikram Bhatt bring the world of swinging to us with Love Game, he tries to push the envelope to show the love with throwing the light on the game subjecting sex, and you can imagine it when films opens with a background voice chanting the word sex 6-8 times in 20seconds.

Performances: Performances in the film is good enough,  New comer Gaurav Arora debuted with Love Games has some screen presence but fail to express.

City Light actress Patralekhaa is the surprice package and totally justify with her character she tries to bring in some wicked deliciousness in her psychotic and power-hungry character and shines in some of the scenes. But her funny accent at times leaves you in splits instead.  The second lead actress Tara Alisha Berry gives a decent performance out of what is written for her.

Plot: A rich businessman named Om Raichand falls to death on the bonnet of a car from the top of a building. The police suspects his wife Ramona ( Patralekhaa) of his murder. But soon she is given a clean chit after they go through the CCTV camera footage which suggests that she wasn't present in the building at the time of his death. Cut to we see that this rich widow has a toy boy Sam aka Sameer Khanna (Gaurav Arora) who most of the time goes into self-harming zone. These f**k buddies, driven by their carnal desires frequently plunge into the big bad world of lust and drugs.  After a threesome that fails to excite Sam, Ramona, in order to throw in some 'adventure' in the relationship, introduces him to a concept called 'love games' where they target happily married couple and compete to see who ends up in bed with them first. Things go smoothly for them until during one such 'love game' Sam meets Alisha Asthana (Tara Alisha Berry), a surgeon who has an abusive husband Gaurav (Hiten Tejwani). He falls for her and as time passes by, Alisha too finds solace in his arms.  Will Ramona ruin her game for their love story? The rest of the plot unravels that mystery.

Direction: Vikram Bhatt is just juggling with the idea of cheap thrills without actually putting anything substantial on offer. So, it won’t make any difference if you call Love Games, Hate Story 4.

Music: The Bhatt camp is known for their films having some soulful music. Sadly 'Love Games' has forgettable songs except for 'Nirvana'. The English soundtrack isn't appealing too.

Dialogues: Love Games' has some silly dialogues especially Patralekhaa's character that makes you go ROFL! Sample this- at one point when her character Ramona finds out that Sam is in love she says, "Best of both worlds, wahan classical piano, yahan hard rock". Another one goes like this- "Tum toh fire brigade ho gaye ho, emergency mein hi aate ho."

Verdict: We give 'Love Games' TIGHT SLAPS for making a mess of a bold and daring concept.
