Gas leak at Mumbai's Kasturba Hospital, patients rushed to safer places

Mumbai: Gas has leaked at Kasturba Hospital in Mumbai. According to information received, LPG gas has been leaked near Kasturba Hospital and four fire brigade vehicles rushed to the spot as soon as they came to know about the incident. 3 water tankers have also reportedly reached the spot and so far 58 patients have been evacuated from here. Out of these patients, a total of 20 patients are patients of Covid 19. The situation has now been controlled though the cause of gas leakage is yet to be ascertained.

Tell all of you that Kasturba Hospital is located near Arthur Road Jail in the Chinchpokali area of Mumbai. The gas pipeline LPG here leaked and the patients were immediately evacuated from the hospital. Within a short time, all the patients were shifted to a nearby building and all the staff also came out of the hospital. Not many patients were present in the hospital when the gas leak incident came to light. This averted a major accident.

The gas leak took place around 11.30 am and the fire brigade and water tankers rushed to the spot to control the situation as soon as they came to know about the incident. Amidst all this, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar reached the spot at 1.50 pm. He now says that the threat did not increase due to the promptness of the employees. Firemen were immediately called in. Otherwise, it could have turned into a big accident.
