Farmer commits suicide due to debt

Chhatarpur: In Naugaon under Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh, a farmer has committed suicide due to debt. Munnilal Rai, a farmer of village Nayugar Sunati in Naogaon district area, hanged himself over tree near the palace of his field due to government machinery. It is being told that his family members went to participate in some program, during which the farmer took this step.

Neeraj Rai, the son of the deceased, says that his father had built a tanka in the field in January, February 2020 through a panchayat. Son says that under the Khet Talab scheme, Rs 1.99 lakh was sanctioned to the farmer. But the sarpanch and the secretary together grabbed the money. The deceased's son Neeraj says that the debtor was putting pressure on his father, due to which he committed suicide. The son of the deceased also told that the farmer had also spoken about committing suicide in front of panchayat workers. But the panchayat workers did not pay attention to them.

The Panchayat Secretary Moti Lal Yadav appeared to prove himself clean in this matter. The Secretary said that the Panchayat had constructed a pond in the farmer's field only under the Khet Talab scheme. The amount of which was sent to the account indicated by the farmer. The police has registered a case of farmer suicide. Police say that action will be taken on the basis of whatever comes out in the investigation.
