Controversial statement of MP Agriculture Minister, calling farmers 'traitors'

Ujjain: Madhya Pradesh Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel has made objectionable statements about farmers. A day before the gathering of farmers (Kisan Sammelan), he came to Ujjain, where he has created controversy by calling the agitating farmers as traitors and foreign powers. After Kamal Patel's statement, Congress has demanded the withdrawal of his ministerial post. Whereas BJP state unit president VD Sharma has defended his party minister.

While speaking to the media in Ujjain, the Agriculture Minister said that the political existence of these farmer organizations will end. He said that due to excess water during a flood, snakes, scorpions,  mongoose, mushrooms etc. come out and climb trees to save lives. Similarly, there has been a flood of development and Modi in the country, in which the entire opposition has come out unitedly.

He said, 'These 500 farmers' organizations are agitating, they have all been formed recently. It is not a farmers' organization but a broker's organization that is a traitor. They are being funded by foreign forces, who do not want to empower the country. All these organizations and opposition are confusing the farmers together. He said that it is my responsibility as Agriculture Minister that farmers should be given proper information regarding agricultural laws.
