PRAYAGRAJ: Uttar Pradesh - Naga Sadhus of the Juna Akhara on Monday - February 3,  took holy-dip as part of the 3rd Amrit Snan on the occasion of Basant Panchami at Triveni Sangam. This ritual bath holds immense spiritual significance and comes shortly after a tragic stampede that claimed 30 lives.

Early Morning Rituals Begin at Triveni Sangam

As dawn approached, groups of sadhus and pilgrims moved towards the Triveni Sangam—the meeting point of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers. By 4 AM, over 16.58 lakh devotees had taken the holy dip. Authorities anticipate nearly five crore pilgrims will take part in this sacred tradition, which is believed to cleanse the soul and bring divine blessings.

Heightened Security Following Stampede Incident

In response to the recent tragedy, the Uttar Pradesh government has introduced rigorous security measures. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed officials to ensure flawless safety arrangements. Additional security forces, medical teams, and crowd management protocols have been put in place to handle the massive influx of people.

A special crowd management plan, called "Operation Eleven," has been implemented to regulate the flow of pilgrims. One-way routes have been established, barricades installed, and extra police forces deployed, particularly on pontoon bridges, to prevent overcrowding.
