Maharashtra cabinet expands, opposition protests

NEW DELHI: The tea party convened by the government after a four-month cabinet expansion from the Maharashtra assembly elections has been opposed by the opposition. In a meeting of opposition parties at the house of Opposition Leader Dhananjay Munde of the Legislative Council, it has been decided that he will not participate in the tea party organised by the government.

Briefing the press after a meeting with opposition party leaders, Dhananjay Munde said that the ministers who have already been expelled from the Cabinet should have already taken action against them. Accusing Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, Munde says Thackeray was holidaying abroad even after drought in Maharashtra.

Munde has said that shiv sena and Thackeray are now talking about farmers who are beyond their comprehension. Maharashtra is scheduled to hold assembly elections after 4 months. Earlier, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has replaced 13 new faces by expanding the cabinet. More importantly, in these 13 faces, Vikh Patil, who quit the Congress, also has his name.
