Maharashtra Cast Conflicts: ‘Rasta Roko' protest being held in Andheri

 

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Jan. 3 (NT): While Maharashtra is on edge of the statewide shut down called by the Dalit groups, Now Rasta Roko' protest is being carried out in Andheri on the Western Express Highway in Mumbai over Bhima-Koregaon-Violence.

Remaining services of AC local suspended for the day in view of protests. Other suburban services are being run amid sporadic protests at Elphinstone Rd, Goregaon, Dadar, Malad. There is no cancellation of Long Distance trains due to Bhima-Koregaon-Violence.

Both up & down lines, which were blocked by the protesters from 12.05 hrs has been removed from at 12.24 hrs and train operations have resumed at Goregaon. Trains are delayed due to it in Western Railway, Mumbai

Police must have acted if Jignesh Mevani's speech was instigating clashes. But he has no relation with this incident saysUnion Minister Ramdas Athawale on complaint filed in opposition to Jignesh Mevani for making provocative statements that led to tension between 2 communities.

 Section 144 has been forced in Maharashtra's Thane region till midnight of January 4, due to the statewide shutdown called by the Dalit outfits, protesting in opposition to the Bhima-Koregaon violence.
