Mumbai: The General Budget has arrived on 1 February. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reacted after the budget came. He said yesterday, 'In this budget, the emphasis has been laid on increasing the income of farmers. Measures have been taken to further strengthen agricultural market committees. Now the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis has given his response to this matter of the Prime Minister.' He said, "This is the budget to silence those who were spreading the rumor that the new agricultural laws will lead to the closure of the Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs) beneficial to farmers." He recently addressed reporters, saying, 'The Finance Minister has raised the minimum support price for farmers to one and a half times. This announcement is enough to show a mirror to the opponents.' During this time, Devendra Fadnavis also presented figures in support of his claim. He said, 'The MSP of 33 thousand crore rupees was given by the previous government in 2013-14 for wheat, it has now been increased to 75 thousand crores. 63 thousand crores were given for rice which has been increased to 1 lakh 72 thousand crores. Similarly, 236 crores were given for pulses, which is now being given 10 thousand crores. The amount of 90 crores which was given for cotton has been increased to 25 thousand crores in this budget. This shows that the present central government has given more than double the price of the previous government to the farmers.'
