Maharashtra Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar said that the vehicles entering the city will still be under watch and the government would take new steps to beef up the security. Mungantiwar, speaking on the 2nd of the three-day special session convened to pave way for the country-wide implementation of the GST from July 1, in the Lower House said that the government will pay special attention to Mumbai's security. Maharashtra Finance Minister added, " that new measures to boost the city's security will be undertaken. Leader of opposition in assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil said the government should tread carefully while implementing the GST."
