Maharashtra: Five killed including BJP leader and his two sons, three assailants arrested

Mumbai: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Councilor Ravindra Kharat, three members of his family and son's friend have been killed by three unidentified assailants outside his residence. The incident came to light from Bhusaval in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. While informing the media about the case, the police said that the miscreants opened fire on Kharat and others and attacked them with knives.

At the same time, the police have arrested the three attackers in this case and investigation is going on. The incident occurred late on Sunday night when 55-year-old corporator Ravindra and his family were in his house. A senior police officer has said that the attacker entered the house of Ravindra with indigenous pistols and knives and opened indiscriminate fire. The attackers fled from there after executing the attack, but later surrendered.

Police said the weapons used during the attack have been recovered. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment but, all died during treatment. In the attack, besides Kharat, his brother Sunil (56), sons Premsagar (26) and Rohit (25), another man, Gajre, died. The real reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.
