Mahesh Babu's Debut Spyder had a blockbuster opening before releasing in India

The famous south Indian actor Mahesh Babu's Tamil debut, Spyder has already started earning money at the box office where else in India the critics and audiences will announce their verdict on Tuesday. The spy thriller directed by AR Murugadoss has already grossed almost $1 million within 24 hours at the US box office, according to estimates. It comes to Rs 6.5 crore and misses the record set by SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 by a whisker (the Prabhas-starrer earned $1.07 million).

Mahesh Babu told IANS earlier that "he really work hard for the movie he was having “sleepless nights” before his film’s release, can sleep easy. “I’ve been having sleepless nights. I’m nervous, but at the same time excited. ‘Spyder’ is my debut in Tamil and I feel like a debutant despite being an actor for 18 years.” He further added that he will not call it as a, “I wouldn’t say it’s a typical James Bond kind of spy thriller. But, it’s got its elements. It is a typical A.R. Murugadoss film, where the audience would be sitting on the edge of their seat.”

On asking him about his south Indians fans he replied "They’ve given me a grand welcome already. The love and warmth they showed me for the audio launch in Chennai is proof of it.”The Mahesh Babu debut film Spyder opened in 300 theatres and earned more than $600,000 in advance booking, according to a Forbes report. The report goes on to say that the film will earn over $1 million by the end of the day.
