Mahesh Babu’s much-awaited movie Maharishi has been released and it has got a roaring start at the box-office. The drama-thriller made Rs 6.38 crore (share) in Hyderabad alone on its opening day. Noted film trade analyst Ramesh Bala, to took to his Twitter account earlier today to reveal the opening day box-office collection of the Mahesh Babu film. He wrote, “#Maharshi takes a record opening in #Nizam on Day 1.. Share - ₹ 6.38 Crs..All-time No.2 Opening..” The trade analyst also revealed that this is the second highest opening of all-time. Most of Mahesh Babu films do well at the box-office, some more than others like Bharat Ane Nenu, however, Maharshi is breaking box-office records across the country and in foreign markets as well. As per the report in Filmibeat, the film minted Rs 23 lakh on its first day from the Chennai box office. In Australia, the Mahesh Babu starrer made $115,000 (AUD) on its first day itself while in Kerala, the Telugu language film earned Rs 2.9 lakh on its opening day which is a new record. Maharshi follows the story of Rishi, a business tycoon, who comes back to India to mend his relationship with his friend. Here, he becomes the champion of the masses and helps the struggling farmers.
